Northumberland rangers hope for ospreys return

Tree-climbing rangers at Kielder are to build a new platform to help their resident ospreys find love.

Kielder's osprey couple were the first to nest in Northumberland for 200 years and produced six chicks over two years.

What is the blog about?

A Birding Blog is my personal record of birding in my local patch — a place to gather field notes, photographs, and video clips of the small moments that make time outdoors so rewarding. After moving home, my patch has changed dramatically: from a simple suburban garden to the open countryside and wetlands of Bickershaw Country Park, Pennington Flash, Byrom Woods, and the wider Wigan Flashes. These landscapes — slowly reclaimed by nature after their industrial past — are now where I spend most of my time.
