I’m Steve, a birder living near the Leeds–Liverpool Canal. Most of my time outdoors is spent exploring Wigan, Leigh, and the surrounding flashes and wetlands. I’m not chasing big lists — just enjoying my local patch, taking photos, and getting outside for my wellbeing. This blog is where I record sightings, share the places I love, and enjoy slow, local birding with family or on my own.
Garden Bird List: Tracking the Visitors to Our Garden
Updated Date = 18th Aug 2026
Another bird I’ve been waiting on for quite some time has finally returned — the Nuthatch. There’s something special about seeing them again, their confident little movements and bold colouring bringing a bit of life back to the garden.
Finally a lovely moment to share — a Coal Tit captured in the garden. They’re quick, bright little visitors, often darting in and out before you’ve had chance to focus, so it’s always a treat when one pauses long enough for a photo.
Blue Tits and Great Tits darting in and out of the garden, their playful movements perfectly captured.
