Quick Trip to Pennington Flash After a Glossy Ibis Report
A quick visit to the Flash today to try and catch sight of the recently reported Glossy Ibis. My first attempt this morning was a miss — it had already lifted off from the spit and headed out towards the East Lancs.
Later, though, news came through that it had been seen from the Charlie Owen Hide, so we headed straight back. Thankfully, luck was on our side. It wasn’t as close as we’d hoped, but we still managed to get the all‑important snap.
While at the Horrocks Hide, we also picked up Oystercatcher and Grey Wagtail, rounding off a very satisfying little outing.
